This unit explained what receptive skills are, reading and listening, and presented information on how to teach in a way that will developed the students receptive skills in the target language. This unit explained the different ways we read and listen, for example, scanning for specific information as opposed to skimming for general information.i appreciated the point about pre-teaching difficult vocabulary while at the same time being balanced in not explaining too much vocabulary in order for the student to use their powers of reason in being exposed to new language to conclude general ideas of what they are reading/listening.
