I want to practice more with direct speech to report speech examples, I feel that practice is best to perfect that. I would teach it as showing what verbs transform to like will to would rather than saying past simple to past perfect - I would try to use a multiple choice program to give instantaneous feedback for teaching this subject. I did not realize there were five conditionals - zero conditional is irrefutable, first conditional is a real possibility once a condition is met, second conditional is a hypothetical situation unlikely to come true, third conditional is hypothetical past action and hypothetical past result, and mixed conditional is hypothetical past action and hypothetical present consequence.
