In this unit, phenology was covered. Of all the units covered so far, I found this one one of the most interesting and useful. I really liked the short poem using the same words and different pronunciations. THe students I am currently teaching don't have a 'v', 'r' or 'l' sound in their alphabet and therefore struggle with the production of these sounds. Having the mouth diagram and now knowing where these sounds are produced from, i fee like now I have a clearer understanding of how to teach these sounds to students. The mnouth diagram was really useful in figuring out how each sound is made and also having the phonetic alphabet was really useful. I also learnt that i should study the phonetic alphabet in order to make pronunciation easier for students to grasp. As different countries and regions have different sounds and pronunciation, knowing the international way of sounding words using the alphabet will indeed be useful.
