This unit helps to identify what students will find useful to learn vocabulary. The words need to be appropriate for the group of students who are learning it such as the age group and the complexity of the word. It also needs to be based on how often the students will be using the terms as well as how to apply the word in a sentence. A student's language level will also determine what resources such as visual aids are needed to learn the new item. Students will need to know the correct pronunciation of a word and how it is spelled. There is no correct ESA function lesson to teach vocabulary to students and any may be used depending on what you are trying to teach.
