Unit 10 provides two videos, each a separate example of a lesson. The first video is an example of what not to do during a lesson. The teacher seems unenthusiastic about the lesson and rarely smiles which seems to make the students uncomfortable. Furthermore, the instructor does not explain the lesson and expects the students to already know what modal auxiliary verbs are without explaining them which makes the student's reluctant to participate. Generally, the first lesson is not effective. The second video is an example of a good lesson. The instructor is welcoming and smiles frequently. He learns the students names and praises them when they answer which encourages participation. Also, the teacher effectively utilizes Engage, Study and Activate throughout the lesson, while making the lesson very clear to the students.
