This unit covers methods of evaluating and testing students, before teaching has begun using placement tests, during teaching, using progress tests and lists the different types of external exams that are available depending on the level of English and requirements of the student. I have learnt that it is important to carry out placement tests to evaluate the students level of English so that he enters the correct class, and that progress tests are important so the student and teacher can monitor the progress of learning, as well as carrying out practice tests to prepare the student for his final external exam.
