This unit discusses the seven most common forms of the future tense. The future simple tense discusses future facts and certainties, promises, predictions, assumptions, spontaneous decisions, and threats. The future continuous tense discusses moments in progress at a particular time in the future, predicts the present, polite enquiries, and when referring to future events. The future perfect tense states something will be completed by a certain time in the future. The future perfect continuous can be used to say how long something will have continued by a certain time. The going to future tense predicts, plans, and state intentions. The present simple and present continuous are two other forms.
