Often also contain progress tests)Please note that this task sheet is solely for checking that you have understood the course unit content.This is another example of English rules that we native speakers follow without realizing it, or having been formally taught it. Reported speech is something we just inherently learn, so it's amazing to have it broken down and see all the formal rules behind it. I can see how teaching these rules might be a little tricky since there are so many ways for learners to get all mixed up and turned around. However, it is also a good reintroduction/review of the various tenses, as you need to have a good understanding of them to be able to appropriately rephrase direct speech into reported speech.
