This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 6 covered the four past verb tenses: Past Simple, Past Continuous, Past Perfect, and Past Perfect Continuous. The Past Simple is used for an action that was completed in the past. The Past Continuous is used for an action that began in the past and possibly continued after a second past event. The Past Perfect is used for a past action that was completed before a second past action. The Past Perfect Continuous is used for a past continuous action that was occurring when a second past action occurred. The use of auxiliary verbs are used in the same pattern as in the previously covered present tense verbs and the pattern of those auxiliary verbs helps to identify the tenses. These auxiliary verbs are main areas to look for with student errors, as do the use of 'did' and 'did not' for questions and negatives.
