NS (Native Speaker)

A Native Speaker (NS) is someone who speaks a language as their first language, having acquired it naturally from early childhood within their home environment. Native speakers typically have intuitive knowledge of their language's grammar, vocabulary, idioms, and cultural nuances. In language education, native speakers can provide authentic language models, cultural insights, and natural pronunciation. However, effective teaching also involves understanding pedagogical principles and being able to explain language concepts to learners.
