TESOL Videos - English Grammar - Future continuous - Usage - Teach English TEFL
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This unit is well lined up, right after the teacher/learner introduction. To me, grammar is the skeleton of a language, the structure of it. And like any skill, language needs to be learned following certain steps and building on the basis of it. Knowing your grammar well gives a learner more confidence and understanding as well as offers possible ways of comparison of L1 and L2. Therefore, a learner can self-reflect on his/her acquisition process by mastering the grammar rules and noticing similarities and differences between his native tongue and the foreign language. For many people (myself included), using correct grammar is a way of respecting the language, its roots, development over years and changes in it.
