Evaluation and Testing of Students - Academic English Exams

This video is part of our video series on "Evaluation and Testing of Students". In this video, we look at the most common academic English exams learners of English take around the world. It is important for EFL teachers to know these different types of proficiency test as they will most likely come across them during their teaching career.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

Unit is great. Lots of useful information on what type of materials should be used for the students. Capturing their interest will surely assist and help build a better relationship between student and teacher. Looking for texts close to the students level would be useful as well.Tenses are a challenging aspect of grammar to teach, but also for the students to learn. The information from this unit is very useful and carefully organized. It will be a handy reference in the future as these are some aspects of grammar that can be confusing even for a teacher. This unit was all about the advantages and disadvantages of using a coursebook. This lesson will prove to be invaluable in teaching future lessons. Before attempting this lesson I assumed that all classes would mostly be taught from books however now I see the hazards in doing so.
