TESOL Videos - Everyday vs Every Day - English Grammar - Teaching Tips
In this video Linda breaks down the difference between "everyday" and "every day". Due to their spelling, it can be quite hard for non-native English learners to understand the difference between the two. This video explains exactly how to differenciate between both expressions.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This unit is all about the teaching equipment which is available to teachers to aid in teaching. Not all classrooms have each and every piece of equipment on hand but with the recent evolution of computers and smartphones, it is easy to supplement some of the pieces. All classrooms should have a board of some type, whether it be a whiteboard or a chalk board. Writing on the board before and during class time is beneficial to students because it gives them a visual. Teachers must be mindful of what they put on the board though. They have to make sure the material is accurate and legible, otherwise it could cause more confusion for the students. Some other classroom materials include interactive whiteboards (IWB), overhead projectors (OHP), CD players, DVD/Video players, worksheets and work cards, video cameras, cassette players, and many more. Books, such as dictionaries, course books, and resource books, can be physical copies or may be able to be found online if the use of computers is common in the school. Online resources are become more prevalent in the classroom since the technology is more readily available to private and public schools alike. Teachers can use multiple resources to teach lessons. Mixing up the way in which you teach a class keeps the students interested. For example, staring at a whiteboard every day could become boring and uninteresting. Using a DVD player or CD player from time to time in lieu of the whiteboard offers the students a different type of stimulation and will more likely regain their interest and attention.
