Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
In this unit, I learned about modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. For instance, the modal verb \"may\" is used for polite request, less than 50% certainty, and formal permission. Also, in the active voice, the focus is on the agent, whereas with a passive voice, the agent is less important.Unit six covered the different tenses of the past. Past simple can be used when a specific time is given or when a time is asked about. Past continuous is used for interrupted past actions. Also it is used without a time or expression and indicates gradual development that took place in the past. This unit teaches the use of the 4 present tenses, the present simple, present perfect, present continuous and present perfect continuous. These are made up of a positive, a negative and question form. Furthermore we've been taught the usages, as well as typical student errors and teaching ideas.
