TEFL 120-hour Course - Unit 1

Chantelle is taking a 120-hour online TEFL course with tutor support and videos with ITTT. This is the first of her video diary entries outlining her experience taking the course. Chantelle took the online course because it was better for her to study online than to commit to attending an onsite course. In this video she talks about the first unit of the course. Unit 1 deals with teachers and learners discussing what makes good teachers and learners as well as the types of roles teachers perform in class, motivation levels of different types of learners and the different language levels.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

As a natural people person who has a strong interest in personality types, I thoroughly enjoyed this unit. It gave me a great understanding on how to apply the broader principles on psychological interaction to the roles of teacher and student in the TEFL environment. Some great ideas in here too.I suggest adding more examples if possible to this unit. The extra examples can be used to help new teachers see more differences between all of the different modals and phrasal verbs. This unit was good in it's own way. the explanation was define thoroughly enough to be understood by most people. This test was challenging when it came to the engage and activate questions, I hope I answered them correctly. I'm still having a hard time putting them in order. I'm sure I'll get it eventually, I just need to maybe read over the lesson a couple more times on Straight arrow and the other methods.
