The linguistic background of the students can affect the success of a class. From my month-long tutoring experience in Asia, I now understand that it's common for Asian kids to lack creativity and willingness to communicate because they are taught to play a more passive role in a classroom environment.I appreciate how the lesson shows that writing is as important as speaking, because I could see myself having overlooked teaching much writing without this lesson.
