I took this course in order to learn up-to-date information about teaching english to speakers of other languages. I have learned a lot about teaching balanced lessons incorporating listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The Engage-Study-Activate approach has been a great new way for me to think about lesson planning, and I have gained many ideas for games and fun ways to use pictures. I have also found the drill structure (3 times chorally followed by 3 individual students) very useful in particular - my students do it enthusiastically so I love it too. Since school resumed after winter break, I have started using information and ideas from this course to plan for my pullout sessions. I am sure I will continue to refer to these course units and the resources listed in them this year and in the future.
