Differences when teaching one to one or groupsThere are so many differences when it comes to teaching private lessons to teaching groups. This really depends on what each individual student needs are when it comes to learning and how they would like to be taught, if it is individual or in a group class. Individual classes are great for those who are not able to attend a group class or simply do not have the time to fit into those classes that are being run. Individual lessons are great to work with students who really need that extra attention or would like to have their needs looked at privately. With Individual lessons a teacher and student can work more like a partnership to work on the english together where the student does not need to wait around for other students in a group to finish or muck about. Learning a new language can be a quite daunting experience for some, many people feel too embarrassed to say what they want while other students are around, The feeling of not being able to pronounce something properly or the fear or not getting the answers correct, this is where the individual lessons are good as the students can feel relaxed in a comfortable learning environment where they can speak their english and not feel like they are being judged. Many believe you learn more in a individual situation as all the attention of the class is focused on the individual learner. Teachers that are teaching individual lessons are able to form a special lesson plan especially catering to that students needs which gives the student greater opportunity to achieve their goals on some issues or problems in some areas they may be having. However with individual lessons the students lack that student to student interaction that can be really great for their english. Working in pairs or as small groups to practice what they have learnt with a student at a similar level can be very beneficial for the students learning and progression. Group lessons are a great way to learn the language as well as meeting new people. There are language schools set up all over the world where people can come and learn and meet people from different parts of the world. Group lessons can be a fun way to learn as the teacher can create activities where the students are taught by using games and activities where the students are interacting with each other as well as competing against each other. The teacher can create activities where the students can work in pairs, small groups or as a whole class, with this working together can create a lot more interesting environment and more enjoyable for the students as they are not simply in a quite situation with just one teacher. This is where the students learning can not only be fun but beneficial at the same time compared to a one on one lesson that does not involve games with many participants. Though some people say you would learn more in individual lessons it is also the case with group classes as students are sometimes forced to learn more with group lessons as they are urged to keep up with the rest of the class. However with Group lessons the individual attentions and extra time with the students cannot be given at times as the teacher needs to make sure that all students are payed around the same amount of attention which in turn can become frustrating for both students and teachers if there is a student who really needs that little bit of extra help. There are many options for students who wish to study english as english is one of the main languages that is spoken and lucky enough there are many ways to learn it, and most times students needs are normally catered for what they want and need depending on what their situation is. Those who are are studying at a specific language school tend to have many options like taking a few group classes as well as a couple of individual classes to work on their specific needs or issues they might be having trouble with. Personally I feel this is the best way to go, I have myself studied in a language school in groups and individual lessons and this is a way for you as a student to enjoy the time learning and meeting with others as well as when you feel you have a problem or something you would like more work on it can be great to have those few extra individual classes added on to your group lessons.
