Similar to the last lesson, I know that I do not create enough opportunities to write in class. I have experimented before with journaling and reflective writing, but always ended up cutting those activities because I felt like I needed to use that time for other things.
I am much more familiar with creating an environment for speaking, but I still hit a roadblock when students refuse to participate no matter what I do to create an environment conducive to speaking. I know that this is something must teachers don't want to admit, but there are just some students that will never be willing to put in the extra work because they have built up personal and group roadblocks to the initial ability to volunteer an answer.
