This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this lesson I ve learned about different techniques and methods and theories of teaching. There are nine fundamental methologies of teaching: grammar-translation,audio-lingualism, task-based learning, communicative language teaching, community language learning, the silent way, suggestopaedia and the lexical approat. It'shard to say whish one of them is the best, because teaching and approach always depend on learners level, age, culture and motivation. That course is mainly focused on ESA methodology, that means that each lessons is devided into three steps: Engage, Study and Activate. There are three main types of ESA lesson order. The first one is 'Straight Arrow', which consists of E-S-A steps. The 'Boomerang'- E-A-S-A. And 'Patchwork' that consists of as many steps as teacher wants , but it has to start with Engagement and finish with Activate phase. Also I've learned different techniques for different stages of the lesson according to ESA and how to correct students' mistakes. The main rule of ESL teaching is to increase 'students' talk' and decrease 'teacher's talk'.
