This lesson covers the two topics that people usually think of right away when imagining language classes - the productive activities of speaking and writing. A well-structured lesson includes both. While speaking fluently is the immediate desire of most students, writing is important because it forces students to be more careful and accurate in spelling, vocabulary, grammar and punctuation. Students whose first language does not include the same letter forms, direction of reading or punctuation have additional hurdles to overcome.
Games are popular with people of every part of the world, so games should be incorporated as an integral part of lessons, not just to give students a break from more serious studies. A thoughtfully presented game will involve much learning on the part of the students.
