Unit 5 was about Class Management. This was a crucial lesson because it has immense practical value, but probably is often overlooked in comparison to the more grammar focused lessons. Although content is extremely important as well, without effective class management, the content will never be absorbed effectively by the students. Class management is important in any educational setting, but is even more vital in a TEFL setting because of the potential cultural and linguistic gaps. This lesson was helpful in giving future teachers a realistic view of potential obstacles and struggles that could be faced in the classroom.
