The teacher needs to remember four things about teaching new language: 1. Students need to be exposed to it; 2. Students need to understand its meaning; 3. Students need to understand how it's constructed; 4. Students need to be able to practise and produce it. The teacher has to ensure that students are introduced to new language in a balanced and manageable way. Teaching vocabulary can be easy and difficult depends on the factors: similarity to students' own language; similarity to English words already known; spelling and pronunciation; appropriacy. Technique for vocabulary teaching is ESA (a patchwork structured approach). During introducing grammatical structures for the students, they need to know what the language means, how it's used, what the grammatical form is and how it is said and written. Technique for introducing grammatical structure is ESA (a patchwork structured approach). Language functions and how to teach them. Language functions are the areas as inviting, refusing, agreeing and disagreeing, suggesting etc, also the appropriacy of the language - formal, informal, tentative, technical etc. The best way to teach language functions is ESAS (boomerang structure).
