This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit introduced us to methods for teaching vocabulary, grammar and language functions. It explained the criteria necessary in selecting which vocabulary words to expose students to and what students need to know to learn grammar structures. It also explained which lesson types work best for teaching each different section, and reinforced our knowledge of the straight arrow, patchwork and boomerang type lesson learned about in unit 3. In the task sheets we were asked to create two different lesson plans for present continuous tense and one for the vocabulary on the topic of food. It is exciting to be at a point in our learning where we can start to think about how we will put this information into our actual teaching practice.
