Unit 18, apparently the last unit covering grammar, is concerned with modal verbs, passive voice, relative clauses and phrasal verbs. As for modals, my experience is that most students have the impression that there are too many of them. So we need to adduce good reasons why students should not only learn \"have to\", but also \"ought to\" for instance. Passive voice is a smaller problem if at all. A good activity might be to choose extreme examples. Students feel the urge to distance themselves from those so they happily apply the passive voice. Relative clauses have their purpose in stories, for example. Phrasal verbs are again more of a challenge since students need to learn the verb with the according preposition or adverb or preposition and adverb. Also there are intransitive and transitive phrasal verbs, the latter again to be segmented into separable and inseparable transitive verbs.
