This unit covers the two productive skills - speaking and writing. The first section focuses on speaking activities in the classroom and techniques to encourage interaction and free communication. An example Straight Arrow ESA lesson is given as well as guidelines for a creative speaking activity. The second part of the unit describes how to teach writing skills, paying attention to some specific areas, which need more attention, such as handwriting, spelling and punctuation. An example Straight Arrow ESA lesson is given as well. The last part, which was the most interesting for me and what I gained most from this unit, is about adapting popular games for classroom activities as a means of teaching productive skills.
