This unit is about how to best work with all of your students. If everyone is new to each other, students and teacher alike, then it is very important to spend your first lesson with each other getting comfortable and familiar with each other, by participating in activities that introduce little to no new English information. You want your students to build rapport with everyone in the class so they they are comfortable when it comes time to work together on actually expanding their English knowledge. Use the type of classroom you are in to your advantage as a teacher by pairing or grouping students accordingly, based on levels or size of the class.
