I am very interested in the theory behind teaching business English, as well as planning and assessment, to complement my experience teaching Business English online at my previous job. It was generally not left to trainers to develop materials, find materials, or write syllabi, as trainers were only paid for telephone time. There was a department for materials development, and later a department for taking licensed articles and differentiating them for learners and writing guiding questions. It will also be interesting to see how to plan for face-to-face groups of business English learners, even though I intend to return to virtual, one-on-one lessons, because in the basic course I was interested in the possibilities for class instruction and that holds true for this specialized area.
