In the first lesson, teachers should start by establishing a good rapport with their students. Instead of directly jumping into the course book, the first lesson should be used to understand the student's needs and finding out their English level. Through this teachers can prepare and plan future lessons accordingly. Some students may not be as motivated at the first lesson, therefore, warmers can be used to inspire and get students involved. Games such as hangman, Pictionary and mermory game would stir up the interest of the students. Reluctant students may be at times overlooked beacuse they are mostly less active. To encourage them, we can group stronger students and weaker students together. Students with stronger language ability would be a good way to assist reluctant students.
