In this unit, I learned about how to teach different special groups, including beginner students, young students, and learners of business English, as well as teaching individual students one on one. Each group has different requirements and tactics to keep in mind when teaching them. Young students, for instance, have shorter attention spans and so require the teacher to change activities frequently to keep from getting bored. Learners of business English have much higher attention spans, but will be tired from work and the lesson must be structured accordingly. Meanwhile, teaching one on one allows for much greater flexibility and specification for a student's needs, but you will need to deal with issues specific to such arrangements such as high cancellation rates for meetings.
