This unit explains the importance of choosing the correct vocabulary for each particular classroom. The vocabulary should be chosen and taught according to the level of the students in the class. The teacher must also keep in mind the rules and guidelines on choosing the specific vocabulary to be taught. For instance, the vocabulary being taught will differ greatly from young children to young adults due to appropriateness, frequency and coverage, and teachability. Furthermore, if a class has a focus on a specific subject such as business or household terms the vocabulary will naturally differ due to the difference in core topics being taught.
