This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Learning how to teach different aspects of English is very useful to me. I found this lesson interesting, and I am sure I will find it very useful in the future. Each language part, needs to be understood clearly, and then mapped to a class lesson to teach. Each part of language needs to have activities that correspond to Engage, Activate, Study, in whatever order (boomerang, straight arrow, patchwork) the teacher chooses. The information in this unit assisted me in breaking down my preconceived notions of reading and listening. The productive versus entertainment aspect is obvious to me but the unit gave more insight on how to actually bring forth information to allow students to learn. I particularly liked the examples of the worksheets and the paragraph about authentic versus non-authentic since that is a concept I had never heard before.
