I feel like I have learned the variations of ESA structures with different parts of teaching a new language. For example, a gap-filled exercise can be used in the study phase, and after, in the activate phase a classroom debate can be used so that they can practice their English. And if you want to mix it up, you could always do a boomerang ESA type of lesson with language functions.This unit teaches us about teaching productive skills which are speaking and writing. We can read about accuracy and fluency activities and when they are presented - study or activate stage of the lesson. We can also learn what are the techniques to encourage interaction or how to encourage students to speak. In addition, the unit teaches what is important in teaching writing skills.
