Unit Six covered past tenses. It was naive of me to think that past tenses would be a piece of cake; this was before I was reminded of their intricacies. There is a past tense for different points in time when speaking about the past. If someone uses the wrong tense, their meaning can be lost and they can confuse the person they are speaking to. I was surprised to revisit concepts I learned in elementary school with new eyes. I realized that tackling these tenses for someone learning English could be a difficult task, especially since it would be easier if every tense was as easy as past simple. I hope to approach past tenses with caution in the classroom, ensuring that everyone is on the same page before continuing to the next one to avoid any confusion.
