This unit specifies general learning patterns and theories (maturation, environmental, constructive and others), as well as explains language learning/acquisition process, student levels/knowledge, as well as reminds about the teaching methods (ESA, Boomerang and others). The student groups are divided by age (5-9 and 9-13) and it's explained what is interesting for students of both groups and what's better to avoid (e.g. singing for bigger kids or quiet and longer activities for younger kids). Since I'm teaching mostly younger kids (3-5 year olds), this helps me understand that noise or mess with younger kids is not the end of the world. Yet I'd like to change my role as a teacher more from the policeman (happening now) to instructor and facilitator.
