This unit was about the importance of lesson plans and how they can be an aid to teaching in the classroom as well as a record of what you have previously taught. The unit outlined that when writing a lesson plan, you should keep it simple, structured yet flexible and ensure there are a balance of skills with the anticipated time frame for each activity. Within a lesson plan, you should include learner objectives, aims, language point, teaching aids you will use, any problems you perceive you might have, the ESA phases, timing, class interaction, class level, number of students, date/time and also any relevant names. A good teacher should also monitor their lesson quality and focus on any strengths or weaknesses to improve and develop as teachers.
