This unit encompasses the most common problems that EFL teachers encounter and offers potential solutions to those problems. Some of those frequently experienced challenges, according to the unit, include teaching classes of varying ability levels, teaching large groups, teaching students who are reluctant to participate, and the use of students' native language in class instead of English. I learned how to best approach each of these problems and how to reduce their impact by anticipating them. For example, if I know that I have a group of students with very mixed ability levels, pairing weaker students with stringer ones can be extremely helpful, as it encourages participation with a peer's explanations or corrections rather than the teacher's.
