In this unit, i have learnt the sub-divisions of materials which can either be authentic or created materials. Authentic materials are those that were not made by the teacher examples include magazines, films on videos, poems etc while created materials as the name suggest are those that were made by the teacher examples are gap filling exercises, word searches, flashcards etc. Course books were also discussed in detail. But the four different options for course books are to omit (teachers may decide to remove certain lessons that are not relevant to the needs of the student), replace (instead of omitting they can replace with relevant materials, supplement (they can add other materials to it), adapt (teachers can adapt it to their own styles).
