This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit was useful for me in that it discussed discipline. Personally I find that component of teaching to be perhaps the most difficult to master. I think the point about never making threats you don't intend to (or simply can not) carry out is particularly useful. Especially with younger students, setting real and consistent boundaries is so important. I hope to think about the points and advice given in this unit more when planning lessons and activities in the future. Also, my current school uses the horseshoe seating arrangement, and I really appreciate it. It gives me more space to move around when engaging with the entire class, and with individual students. But the merits of other arrangements was interesting to me as well.
