This unit provided great visual representations of poorly as well as well carried out lessons. It highlighted what to avoid when teaching and what to emulate in order to have a successful lesson. I found this to be helpful for online TEFL certifications in particular because it provides somewhat of an in-class feel and experience, since actual in class time does not accompany online certifications.In this unit we learned various tools to use when teaching a new language. This unit contained suggestions on how to teach vocabulary, grammatical structures and language functions including suggested activities for each of the ESA language teaching method stages. I learned that new English learners will need a greater focus on vocabulary before moving onto further lessons in functions and grammar.
