Because I have been learning Spanish in a classroom setting, learning the different tenses in English makes me understand my Spanish tenses more. As a native speaker of any language you do not realize what tense you are speaking in you just speak. It is interesting to break down the parts of speach. It gives me more awareness when I speak my native language and assists me in learning new languages.This lesson covered the structuring of lessons for productive language skills: speaking and writing. The material made an important distinction between accuracy and fluency - accuracy being the ability to operate strictly to a set of rules and fluency being the ability to operate creatively with the output of a language while not necessarily being the most accurate. Both are needed for a good speaker.
