This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit discussed the different types of theories that can be used in teaching and the different methods to go about it. It also helped to distinguish which methods may be better suited for different levels of learners and/or size of class. This unit gave me concrete ideas for activities for all stages of a lesson (engage, study, activate). It will be very beneficial for lesson planning. This lesson focus is on what you need to consider when planning a lesson and actually putting together a lesson plan. I learned a lot from this lesson about having a plan yet not being strongly bound to your lesson plan as well. A good teacher has to be flexible and understand when to change something during the lesson or allow for a stage to go longer if the students are really enjoying it.
