This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit we have examined productive skills, i.e. speaking and writing.
With both of these, we can split them further into accuracy and fluency. We have examined the phases within a straight line ESA class, where these would be worked on most appropriately and looked at a variety of tasks or activities that would support accuracy and/or fluency, especially in speaking. With writing activities, it's important to be aware that some learners may need additional support to form and write letters, but that readability of a student's handwriting is still important.
We have also looked at the role of games within the classroom and looked at the importance of preparation and explanation when using activities such as role play.
