This unit dealt with speaking and writing lessons that I can utilize when teaching students. I would like to teach in Japan, and shame and embarrassment is a very big problem in Japan. The steps to help encourage students to speak and write will be extremely useful such as creating a need to speak. I think if I made the speaking lesson less creative and more objective based that the students would not be so embarrassed as there is nothing personal attached it. Even though the fear of failure would be a reason, I could alleviate that by removing the possibility of wrong answers. So an exercise where the students work together to accomplish a goal, will allow creativity without embarrassment and also no risk of failure.
