Pronunciation is a complex aspect of English language teaching, and therefore teachers tend to neglect it. Phonology provides them with necessary tools to teach pronunciation. Teaching grammar and vocabulary may be challenging, however, these skills are the foundation of language fluency. Functions include areas which have a real communicative value for students since they provide them with the opportunity to learn how particular grammar and vocabulary can be used in various situations.
