The last unit is about the different styles of assessing students in English classes. In addition to conventional tests, tutorials and evaluations could also be applied to the class. The most common tests include Placement, Diagnostic, Progress, and External tests. The placements tests are used to determine the knowledge of students prior to putting them I the right class. The diagnostic tests are similar to placement tests with a focus on the strengths and weaknesses of the learners. Progress tests, on the other hand, aim to evaluate the progress the students make during a period of time. The last part of the unit is devoted to introducing a number of general examinations conducted by some well-known institutions.
