Unit 4 examines the differences between authentic and non-authentic materials that are used to aid the teaching process in an English language classroom. It explores the wide range of materials that a teacher can use in classroom activities, such as worksheets, flashcards, and tapes, and how to effectively use them. It also discusses the importance of lesson planning as well as the benefits and disadvantages of course books. This unit covers classroom management and looks at ways of creating a disciplined and productive learning environment. The section of the unit that I found particularly useful was the materials webliography which listed many websites that offer free online resources for EFL teachers.
