This unit helped project just how much of an impact a teacher's attitude and preparation can affect the mood and participation of the students. The students in the first video were confused and intimidated by the lesson plan of the teacher because there were no clear instructions of what they were expected to learn or what the teacher wanted. The teacher didn't even know the names of the students, which I found to be really concerning and rude as it lacks any care for the students. The second video showed how the teacher was more encouraging and had a sunny disposition that was more inviting. This allowed for the students to be more willing to participate, especially by introducing themselves and the teacher calling on the students individually to answer. Also the second lesson plan was more structured and involved, with the teacher walking around, making himself more present.
