In this unit I learned different activities that can be used for teaching language functions, vocabulary and grammar to ESL students such as asking students to describe their house during engage, giving them a crossword puzzle to learn the vocabulary terms for various rooms or pieces of furniture in a house during study, and then having them create a role-play about buying furniture for a new house during engage. I learned what factors make learning words easier or harder for students such as how often they may hear it, and that the difference between receptive and productive words is that students may not know how to use receptive terms on their own but still understand the meaning, meanwhile they are able to do both with productive words.
