Since I have been a teacher for over thirty years, I have had quite a lot of experience with testing. At one point in my career, I administered diagnostic academic testing for young learners to determine learning disabilities. However, I was not familiar with the general external examinations that are given to determine English language skills. Of course, being from America, I have heard about the TOEFL, but the other tests referenced in this unit were new to me. I would have liked a more lengthy discussion on using tutorials as an evaluation tool. I think that most teachers would find quite helpful a discussion of and descriptions of informal assessment instruments and techniques.
